Nguyễn Hà Đông và chú chim gây nghiện
Khi kể về những câu chuyện của cộng đồng CNTT Việt Nam, không thể không nhắc đến cái tên Nguyễn Hà Đông với trò chơi Flappy Bird từng nổi đình nổi đám của mình.
Nguyễn Hà Đông sinh năm 1985, tốt nghiệp Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội, thành lập công ty game với quy mô vừa phải, chuyên sản xuất các trò chơi trên điện thoại di động. Trò chơi Flappy Bird xuất bản vào tháng 5 năm 2013, và đạt đến 50 triệu lượt tải trên toàn thế giới trước khi bị chính tác giả gỡ khỏi các cửa hàng ứng dụng. Vào thời kỳ mà trò chơi này còn phổ biến, cả thế giới đều phát điên vì nó bởi vì tính gây nghiện. Nó vừa là lí do khiến cho tựa game này trở nên phổ biến, và cũng là lí do tạo nên áp lực buộc tác giả phải lựa chọn gỡ nó khỏi các kho ứng dụng.
Nguyễn Hà Đông không phải là một lập trình viên thuộc dạng xuất sắc nhất nhì cộng đồng, trò chơi Flappy Bird cũng không phải là sản phẩm thuộc dạng khủng nếu xét về công nghệ, nhưng sự kiện thành công của Flappy Bird đã tạo nên một tiếng vang lớn tầm cỡ thế giới. Lần đầu tiên có một sản phẩm phần mềm nguồn gốc Việt Nam tạo được sự ảnh hưởng lớn như vậy, điều này đã tạo thêm động lực cho nhiều lập trình viên trong nước. Nguyễn Hà Đông được nhiều hãng tin lớn của thế giới theo đuổi để đặt bài phỏng vấn, anh cũng được mời tham dự nhiều sự kiện dành cho lập trình viên nổi tiếng của thế giới.
Kể từ sau sự kiện Flappy Bird, Nguyễn Hà Đông và công ty của mình vẫn tiếp tục hoạt động, nhưng chưa có các thành công khác đáng kể.
Dấu chân lập trình viên Việt
Việt Nam là một trong số các nước có lực lượng lập trình viên đông đảo. Theo một vài ước tính, thế giới có khoảng gần 30 triệu lập trình viên, trong đó Việt Nam đóng góp gần nửa triệu người. Ngành CNTT cũng được coi là một trong số các ngành tốt ở Việt Nam để sinh viên theo học, do đó dự đoán là quy mô nhân lực của ngành này ở Việt Nam trong thời gian tới cũng sẽ tăng.
Mặc dù không có nhiều sản phẩm phần mềm lớn nổi tiếng thế giới mang thương hiệu Việt Nam, nhưng các lập trình viên Việt Nam đã và đang đóng góp rất nhiều cho ngành phát triển phần mềm thế giới. Việt Nam được biết đến là một trong số các quốc gia có ngành gia công phần mềm phát triển, có rất nhiều doanh nghiệp gia công phần mềm đang hợp tác với các hãng lớn của nước ngoài như. Cũng có rất nhiều lập trình viên người Việt đang làm việc cho các hãng công nghệ lớn như Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Facebook,… Cho nên, có thể nói mà không sợ quá lời rằng các lập trình viên Việt Nam đang đóng góp đáng kể cho sự phát triển của ngành CNTT thế giới.
